CRABTREE & EVELYN LAUNCHES INDIA HICKS ISLAND LIVING BODY & HOME COLLECTIONS
Creative Partner India Hicks and Crabtree & Evelyn launch Island Living Body & Home Collections. To create this very personal vision of her life on a beautiful island in the Caribbean, India Hicks immersed herself in the creative process from formulations to fragrances and packaging. Designer, international model and author, India Hicks is daughter of famed British interior designer, David Hicks, and goddaughter to Prince Charles.
India drew upon an eclectic mix of influences: natural island wisdom, her favourite island flowers and trees, classic West Indian style as well as antique maps. An anthology of original English marine life prints from the 1840's – collected by India's partner, David Flint Wood – is the inspiration behind the red coral icon created for the collection.
SPIDER LILY BODY COLLECTION
India's passion for natural beauty led her to work with island plants, fruits, and flowers - avocado, mango, hibiscus, coconut, aloe vera, grapefruit, sea salt, and seaweed – that help nourish, protect, hydrate and soothe the skin. Her favourite island flower, the delicate and courageous Spider Lily that grows out of the bare, pink sand, is the heart of the fragrance – a soft blend of spider lily, citruses, orange blossoms, tropical fruits, night-blooming jasmine, green palms and sea air accords. The Spider Lily Body Collection has also been granted the Royal Warrant by her godfather, HRH The Prince of Wales.
The Spider Lily Body Collection includes an Eau de Toilette, Bath Salts, Shower Gel, Hand Wash, Body Polish, Natural Triple-milled Soap and Body Cream. Parabens, mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate and propylene glycol have been screened out of the products.
CASUARINA HOME COLLECTIONFor her Island Living Casuarina Home Collection, India Hicks worked with a team of perfumers and noses to capture the scent of the island breezes that sweep over her veranda at sunset. The fresh, green fragrance of the casuarina, a native tree that always remind India of home, is blended with island wildflowers, orange blossom, green palms and sea air accords. The designs capture the natural spirit of West Indian style – handmade rattan boxes, leather detailing, old maps, classic bottles, natural palettes highlighted with splashes of dramatic colour – and are reminiscent of the simple, elegant décor of India's island home. There, seashells found on pink sand beaches sit alongside her great grandfather’s duelling pistol case, and chests hand lined with antique maps.
The Casuarina Home Collection includes a scented Treasure Box, Large Three-wick Scented Candle, Scented Candle, Fragrance Diffuser and Room Fragrance.
